The lake in brief ...
This lake of 58000 hectares is the largest one in the metropolitan France. It is lined with light houses and crossed by numerous fishermen boats . The south shore offers a fabulous sight in winter when it is very cold for several days which is the case only once every 10 years. This is the "bise noire". The banks of the lake become very frozen and everything becomes magical and icy (the trees, benches, cars, the rocks, the buoys ... ). Look at the photos of the Winter 2012 !!!

Built on a mountain slope, the Avoriaz chalets , designed by Jacques Labro, are typical of the mimetic architecture..
